Decoding Vastu Shastra - Part 3

Let’s simplify Vastu Shastra for Gen-Zs - Part 3!

After we’re done with the North East & East, which are Ishanya & Purva respectively, we move clockwise towards South East i.e. Agneya.

By the time the Sun has reached the South East, its rays are strong, bright & hot, so this direction has a relationship to Agni i.e. the fire element.

It’s the best place for a kitchen since that’s where we cook food. But it’s a big no-no for the bathroom, which is water-based room, or the bedroom & pooja room as too much of fire energy in such rooms can cause fights, tensions & disharmony.

Next to it is South or Dakshina. By the time the Sun has reached here, the power is now getting calmer & stable so this direction has a relationship with the Earth i.e. the prithvi or bhumi element. Its ruled by Yama, the God of Death & Justice.

That’s why its recommended to avoid keeping your house’s entrance, kitchen or bathroom in the south as this direction needs activity that is less free-flowing & more stable or heavy like the Master Bedroom with its heavy furniture or the storage room.

The same rules apply to the Southwest i.e. Nairutya, also tied to the Earth element. The basic suggestion is to avoid bathrooms or entrances here at all times & use it for the bedroom or storage as these 2 directions can bring in stability, security, permanence, etc. if used properly.
