Why do bad people get away with it?
Hey Manik, there are so many corrupt & evil people who are living a great happy life while many good people who pray to God suffer - so how is this system fair?
You’ve got the concept of “karma” all wrong & here’s the tea.
Many of us think of karma as an instant judgement slot machine in which if you put bad coins, you get bad punishments, and if you put good coins, you immediately get rewarded with success.
But in reality, karma is more like a slow & long SIP i.e. your “spiritual investment plan” - it is a huge bank account of all your actions that takes effect across many lifetimes.
The total store is called as sanchita karma, and each time you’re born, you withdraw some of it for called “prarabdha karma,” which creates the circumstances you have to face to learn lessons necessary for healing & growing. This is not something you can control, just endure & minimise the effects by doing charity or social service.
But what you do in this life presently is called agami or kriyamana karma - this is the only thing you have control over so it’s best to focus on it & not think too much about the past. This agami karma will eventually get added to your sanchita & may come back in the future.
So a person who does “adharma” in this life may get away with it right now but will most definitely have to face justice eventually in a future lifetime.
That said, we need to understand that karma isn’t a punishment - it is like a personalised teaching plan created on the basis of your own actions for your soul to learn from certain experiences in order to grow spiritually & reach moksha or liberation because that’s what God wants for all of us.
