NSE and BSE circulars set Muhurat trading for Sunday, 8 November, the day of Lakṣmī Pūjan. The pre-open session runs from 2:05 to 2:20 pm and continuous trading from 2:20 to 3:30 pm, followed by the new Closing Auction Session.

All trades create normal settlement obligations.

Key data

70 minutes of continuous trading. Auction order entry runs from 3:20 to 3:25 pm with a random close. Closing reference price is the volume-weighted average from 3:00 to 3:15 pm. Market closes at 4:20 pm.

Why it matters

It is the ritual first trade of Saṃvat 2083 for retail investors, and the new auction changes how closing prices are found.
