Dharma Times News: 26th January 2026

Did you grow up wishing for cool Harry-Potter or Avatar-style movies & series that were based on our Dharma & Bharat.

That’s about to become a reality now & the whole world is going to get the chance to experience our culture’s stories on their screens. Here’s how.

----

Our Story No. 1 is the announcement done by Mumbai-based Collective Artists Network, led by Vijay Subramaniam. The studio & agency group have unveiled a HistoryVerse project with 8 content pieces slated to come out as web series or full-blown cinematic releases over the next few years.

They will feature the legends of Akkalkot’s saint Sri Swami Samarth Maharaj, Kali Ma, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Hanuman, Durga Ma & Lord Shiva.

Mind you, these are the same group that attempted the AI-powered Mahabharata Series released on Jio Hotstar, which got a lot negative reviews because honestly, it had really bad quality control & ruined the epic - but tactically speaking, that should be seen more like a failed experiment or stepping stone towards better storytelling as this genre matures.

With the success of Ashwin Kumar-led Kleem Productions’ box office hit “Narasimha”, which has even entered the Oscars race for the Best Animated Features award category, we should be openly encouraging & celebrating these efforts even if they are not fully polished.

In the next 25 years, Dharmic storytelling is definitely going to see a revival trend because of tech & AI so get your popcorn ready & grab a seat.

Moving on to Story No. 2, our community is finally taking a stand to protect the sanctity of our temples & holy places, with Uttarakhand Haridwar’s most prominent ghat, Har-ki-Pauri, seeing signage boards installed restricting access to only Hindus, and barring non-Hindus from entering.

The next Kumbh Mela is scheduled to happen in Haridwar itself in early 2027, so there is pressure on the government to act on the demand for barring non-Hindus from all holy Ghat sites in the area.

This is an important positive step because we have seen a sharp increase in the number of confirmed reports of miscreants from other communities who purposely encroach these sites & do vulgar acts like urination & defecation just to stir up unrest & anger.

Moves like this will set a precedence for all Sanatani holy sites in India & around the world to freely & fearlessly ban entry for people who do not identify with our Dharma, ensuring that our sites are protected well from ill-intentioned outsiders.

With rapidly changing demographics in all states, we need to fight for our sacred centres, and we Sanatanis need to show full support for such initiatives.

Sites of other religions, like Mecca, openly do this & no one questions it, so we Hindus need to stop being apologetic about wanting to protect our own Dharma.

Those are the 2 best stories I have for you this week.
