A 40-year-old man allegedly threw sticks at the idol inside the garbhagṛha of the Santoshi Mata temple in Dilsukhnagar while priests and devotees were present. He was booked under the BNS at Chaitanyapuri police station on the temple chairman's complaint, and police said the motive is under investigation.

Union ministers Bandi Sanjay Kumar and G. Kishan Reddy demanded better temple security from the state government.
